functional shrine

Inspired by iconography and ancient religious art, I set out to create a shrine to irreverently honor my abiding love for animals -- dogs in particular. As a dog lover, I wanted to explore the mysterious nature of man's relationship with the dog. Much like our gods, dogs are silent companions throughout our lives. We never truly know what our dog might be thinking or feeling, or what they might do next. Still, we understand that our dogs love us. In many ways, these human-canine relationships are built on faith. And in the absence of spoken language, love endures.
